Create a durable, professional training surface with Equipped Gym’s commercial-grade rubber gym flooring.
Each 1m × 1m tile is manufactured from dense recycled SBR rubber and bonded using a high-temperature polyurethane adhesive. The fine-granule top surface provides dependable grip underfoot, while the dense rubber construction helps protect equipment and subfloors from impact, noise and vibration.
Manufactured in five thicknesses from 10mm to 40mm, the range is suitable for everything from cardio equipment and home gyms to heavy free-weight areas and commercial fitness facilities.
Key Features
- Commercial-grade recycled SBR rubber
- Bonded with high-temperature polyurethane adhesive
- Tight 0.4-1% dimensional tolerance on 15mm-40mm tiles for more consistent alignment
- SGS tested to Bfl-s1 fire classification
- Dense 950kg/m³ construction for greater stability under heavy equipment and a more substantial commercial feel

- 5 thickness options from 10mm to 40mm
- 5-year limited warranty against premature structural cracking
Which Thickness Should I Choose?
| Thickness | Recommended use | Maximum recommended drop |
|---|---|---|
| 10mm | Cardio equipment, benches, light free weights and lower-impact home gyms | Up to 80kg |
| 15mm | General home gyms, moderate dumbbell training and multi-use fitness areas | Up to 110kg |
| 20mm | Free-weight areas, heavier dumbbell training and general commercial gym use | Up to 140kg |
| 30mm | Heavy strength training, power racks and higher-impact lifting areas | Up to 200kg |
| 40mm | Olympic lifting, repeated heavy use and maximum floor protection | Up to 260kg |
The most suitable thickness will also depend on the subfloor, frequency of use, drop height and how weights or equipment are handled.
Our 20mm, 30mm and 40mm tiles feature a connector-ready base. For fitting advice, dimensional tolerances and connector guidance, see Installation & Size Tolerance below.
Installation & Size Tolerance
For the best finish, install the tiles onto a clean, dry and level subfloor. Unpack the flooring and allow it to acclimatise in the room before fitting.
Dry lay the tiles before making final cuts or applying adhesive. Check the alignment regularly as you work and leave perimeter cuts until the main flooring area has been positioned.
Installation by Thickness
10mm and 15mm
These tiles are designed to be laid directly onto a suitable flat subfloor. They are not compatible with our plastic tile connectors.
A suitable adhesive can be used where a permanent installation or additional restraint is required.
20mm, 30mm and 40mm
These tiles feature pre-cut holes in the underside for use with our plastic tile connectors.
Smaller enclosed rooms may be suitable for loose laying, depending on the subfloor and intended use. However, connectors are recommended for improved alignment and stability, particularly across larger areas, along open sides and in higher-impact training zones.
The connectors use a simple push-fit design and remain hidden underneath the flooring once installed.
Recommended Layout
Tiles can be fitted in either a straight or staggered brickwork layout.
A staggered layout helps break up continuous joints and can create a more stable, professional-looking finish across larger areas. Rotate or reposition individual tiles where needed before making perimeter cuts.
How Many Connectors Do I Need?
As a general guide, allow approximately 3–4 connectors per tile.
The exact number will depend on the size and shape of the floor, whether the area is enclosed by walls and whether edge ramps or corners are being fitted.
For more detailed examples, see our Gym Floor Connectors Guide.
Dimensional Tolerance
Our 15mm, 20mm, 30mm and 40mm tiles are manufactured to a tight dimensional tolerance of 0.4% - 1%
This means a nominal 1000mm tile may measure approximately 990mm to 1010mm. Our 10mm tiles are manufactured to a larger tolerance of ±1.5%.
These controlled tolerances account for the small amount of expansion and contraction that occurs as moulded rubber cools and acclimatises.
The 0.4% - 1% tolerance on our 15mm–40mm flooring is a precise specification for moulded rubber tiles and supports more consistent alignment and a neat, professional finish.
Achieving the Best Finish
- Allow the flooring to acclimatise before installation.
- Make sure the subfloor is clean, dry and level.
- Dry lay the tiles before making permanent cuts.
- Rotate or reposition tiles where needed to improve alignment.
- Use connectors with 20mm, 30mm and 40mm flooring for additional stability.
- Secure open edges with suitable ramps, corners, adhesive or perimeter restraint where appropriate.
- Allow approximately 5% additional flooring for any cuts, room irregularities and installation allowance.
Tiles that remain within the published dimensional tolerance meet the product specification.
Complete Your Flooring Installation
- Order flooring samples to check the finish and thickness before placing a larger order.
- Add tile connectors for 20mm, 30mm and 40mm flooring.
- Add floor edge ramps and corners to create a neater transition around exposed sides.
- Use our rubber floor care products to clean and maintain your flooring.
- Shop all gym flooring options to compare available thicknesses, colours and accessories.

Material Characteristics & Care
As with newly manufactured recycled rubber flooring, a mild rubber aroma may be noticeable when the tiles are first unpacked. This will naturally reduce once the flooring has been removed from its packaging and allowed to ventilate.
For best results:
- Allow the tiles to acclimatise in a well-ventilated indoor area.
- Use a pH-neutral cleaner suitable for rubber flooring.
- Avoid bleach, solvents, petroleum-based chemicals and aggressive degreasers.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
Use of another manufacturer’s cleaning product does not automatically invalidate the warranty. However, damage caused by an unsuitable cleaning product or maintenance method is not covered.
