What is the difference between a 6ft and 7ft Olympic barbell?
Our 7ft bar weighs 20kg — the standard length and weight used in commercial gyms, with room for wide-grip lifts and rack work. The 6ft bar weighs 15kg, making it lighter to handle and better suited to smaller spaces and newer lifters.
Do your barbells come with collars?
Several do — the 7ft, 6ft and EZ curl bars are available with collars included. We also sell barbell collars at £5.99 and spring clips at £3.99 separately, so you can keep a spare pair by every bar in your gym.
Should I buy bumper plates or tri-grip plates?
Choose bumper plates if your training includes cleans, snatches or any lift where the bar comes down to the floor fast. Tri-grip plates suit controlled barbell work — their handled design makes loading, carrying and storing plates much easier day to day.
How much weight should a starter plate set include?
For most people beginning barbell training, our 107.5kg tri-grip set with 7ft Olympic bar offers plenty of progression room across squats, presses and deadlifts. Lifters already moving bigger numbers should step up to the 157.5kg set so the bar never runs out of plates as they get stronger.
Do you sell dumbbells and kettlebells as well?
