These feel like the ones at the gym. The rubber end feels as though it is tightly secured on the metal.The metal seems longer than the typical length for these type of dumbbells, but I’m wondering if it’s because I typically would be using heavier weights, like 20kg and perhaps the bulk of the rubber ends makes the metal seem less obvious and smaller.They are comfortable to hold; no sharp bits and plenty of grip, not that you necessarily need it with 1kg weights.They do have a strong chemical/rubber type smell. Not so bad given what they are and hope they will lose the smell with time and air exposure.
These are really nice, lower level weights. I need to improve my elbow and wrist strength due to RSI type pain so these are ideal to get me moving along. The grip on the handle is great, no issues with rubbing or blisters. They’re easy to manoeuvre and do the job well. I haven’t noticed a strong smell on unpacking these but you do get advice included as to how to deal with any residue etc when you unpack them.Great product
Easy to use. Good grip. Okay value for money and they do feel well made. Maybe could be slightly cheaper for what they are as only 1kg each. There is a funny smell on opening but it’s soon fades. I actually use these for physio work on my arm and they do a good job.
I work in a school science department and we do experiments on muscle fatigue using 1kg sandbags (which are tricky for the children to hold, and can make a mess), so was pleased to be given the chance to test out some actual 1kg dumbbells.They arrived nicely packaged, and well wrapped to avoid damage. They are accurate in terms of weight (I checked), and have a good grip because of the textured area on the metal. The ends are black rubbery material in a shape which doesn't roll about (perfect for school), and have a little initial odour but nothing offensive.Great lightweight dumbbells.
Very well made and a comfortable grip which has been a gripe of mine with other metal machines hexagonal dumbbells. They are not scratchy, comfortable in the hand and provide adequate grip.The weight is pretty precise too -I weighed one at 1003g and the other at 1004g.I have mainly got these for my daughter to work out with me as they aren't too heavy for her but theu will be useful for light resistance training should o injure myself.A greta value little set of dumbbells.
